Stage 1. How does the labor market look like for young graduates?

Instructions:
Completing Stage 1 tasks students will work separately in Spanish and Russian groups.
The teachers will give you papers, instruction and sources of information to work with.
You should contact each other online through one of the tools provided (Slack, Teams, Zoom, etc.) to organize and prepare your task.
You have 1 week for this stage.
You send / upload the deliverable on time.
What should we take into account for this activity?
Your conversations and work together should be done face-to-face and live (through Zoom or Teams, for example) whenever possible.
Interactive real-time/audiovisual exchange and communication is essential for full cross-cultural experience and learning.
Task 1.1: Characteristics and problems of the transition from university-to-work.
Read the paper assigned (individually).
Discuss conclusions within Spanish-Russian group.
Write down 3 main takeaways (team)
Task 1.2: Select and download data on the labor market situation of young graduates.
Study labor market main indicators (table). Understand correctly the meaning and the calculation process of each indicator that you research with your team (individually).
Study your country main sources of data (national statistical agencies, web-resources). These sources are presented further.
Select necessary data for calculations.
Carry on calculations (team) and present results.
DELIVERABLE 1
Upload a Presentation on February 28th to slack.
One presentation from each of the sides (Countries) that includes:
Tables and graphics with results – the information on labor market indicators on Russian – Spanish labor market for young graduates.
Brief summary of the main conclusions.
Presentation time is 5 minutes
Discussion during the meeting (March 1st) on the presentation and results, comparative analysis. Basic questions:
What are characteristics of the transition from school-to-work?
What do main labor market indicators show us?
What is the difference between Russian – Spanish labor markets for young specialists (according to indicators)?
What is the situation by gender?
SOURCES OF INFORMATION
For all teams: Tables with labor market indicators and calculations will be sent to all teams.
Your professors will help you find sources for completing Task 1.2, but you will also have to look for sources of information by yourself in your team.
How will this activity be evaluated?
Teams will evaluate each other's public presentation and quality of the deliverables and teams contribution to the discussion (see "Activities" main page)
Evaluation criteria
Deliverable 1: 15 points (8 points - team report and presentation + 7 points -discussion)
