CMC did not make a tank car. CMT attempted a tank car under Charlie Wood, but it was not a success. Made of a piece of PVC plastic pipe, and raised above the frame with high bolsters, the car was awkward to build and only a handful were made. We first redesigned the tank car using 2-1/2" diameter aluminum tubing for the tank and lower bolsters. While this was an improvement, we weren't satisfied. Our newly re-designed tank cars are all metal, with turned aluminum tank ends and domes, and with new ladder platforms and brake wheels. They are available in 5 different brightly colored versions.
