Late in Charlie Wood's ownership of CMT, sometime in the 1990's, he came out with a refrigerator car that was atypical to the CMT line of cars. Rather than invest in dies to make the new car, Wood made the reefer out of a type of craft plywood, with the non-operating ice hatches and doors cast of resin. It was okay, but hardly a "tinplate" car; and of course the door was glued on and did not open. He only made a few, so they are quite scarce. The all-new CMT-LLC refrigerator car body is made of 24 gauge steel, with hand-soldered operating reefer "plug" doors, and it comes in a variety of distinctive traditional heralds, with more to come.
