The Miramar Library website serves as a gateway to the library's collections of print and electronic resources—selected to support the college curriculum and student learning and success. Visit the links below for more information about the rich collection of research tools and resources available to you. Current Miramar College students, faculty, and staff have 24/7 online access to the library's streaming video resources, online article and reference databases, and eBook collections that are searchable through the OneSearch platform. During designated times throughout the semester, you will be able to come to the Miramar College campus for pickup of library books and laptop computers. Announcements and details will be posted on the Library homepage.

Miramar College LGBTQ+ Scholarship

For more information about scholarship opportunities available to members of the LGBTQ+ community, contact the Scholarship Office.

Three scholarships, one application:

  • General PFLAG Scholarship

  • Raytheon STEM or Qualcomm STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Scholarship

  • Fine and Applied Arts (art programs, theater, literature, music)

“STARS” Program Paid Internship

The STARS (Striving for Trans-inclusion and Anti-Racism in Science Learning) Program is a paid internship opportunity at the Exploratorium aimed at LGBTQ+ and racial equity. The Exploratorium, located in San Francisco, California, is a public learning laboratory exploring the world through science, art, and human perception.

Point Foundation, The National LGBTQ Scholarship Fund

The Point Community College Program inspires LGBTQ community college students to fulfill their ambitions of graduating with an associate’s degree and/or transferring to a four-year college or university. Students accepted into the program will receive between $2,000-$4,800 in scholarship support each year, admissions counseling, coaching and financial education, and access to the Point Foundation network of LGBTQ scholars, more than 300 alumni, and many others dedicated to seeing LGBTQ students succeed.

The Witt Matheny Scholarship was established by Harry Matheny to honor the 34-year relationship with his partner, Jerry Witt, who passed away in 2008. The scholarship will support LGBTQ students in pursuit of furthering their individual passions through education. Learn more here.

The Victory Institute’s Victory Congressional Internship is developing the next generation of out public leaders. Each semester, the Victory Congressional Internship brings outstanding LGBTQ undergraduate students to Washington, DC, for an intensive leadership program, including:

  • An 8-10 week Congressional internship with a member of the LGBT Equality Caucus or an LGBTQ-friendly member of U.S. Congress to learn firsthand about the federal legislative process; and

  • An educational and leadership development program to learn about careers in policy-making and engage with subject-matter experts in the District of Columbia working across sectors.
