At National Taiwan University, we offer three Mandarin language programs. Each program provides an immersive language learning experience, in combination with cultural activities that explore the heritage of Taiwan.

National Taiwan University Plus Academy
Summer+ Chinese Language & Culture Programs (3-week and 6-week)
Description: This program is designed to meet the needs of students at all levels, whether you're a beginner or have prior experience with the Chinese language. It offers an in-class curriculum that encourages interaction and helps you enhance your communication skills. The course covers various themes that connect your daily language learning with cultural experiences and interactions with NTU local students. We also provide a series of English-conducted lectures and field trips that allow you to explore specific environmental and sociocultural aspects of Taiwan.
Eligibility: ages 16 and above; non-native speakers of Mandarin Chinese

National Taiwan University
Chinese Language Division (CLD) of Language Center
Description: The Chinese Language Division in the Language Center of National Taiwan University (NTU) was established in October 1984. To cater to the increasing demand of Mandarin language education globally and support the demand of Mandarin language teachers, CLD began to provide Chinese language courses to the public in 2000. CLD offers Chinese language courses in diverse difficulty levels, and supports instructors in engaging students in cultural activities that will help students better apply and understand the language in its cultural context. CLD offers quarter terms (10-12 weeks) and classes are conducted in small groups (5-7 students) with three hours per day, totaling 15 hours per week.

International Chinese Language Program (ICLP)
Description: ICLP offers intensive and diverse Mandarin language courses in a Mandarin-speaking environment that upholds much of its traditional Chinese heritage and culture within the framework of a modern democratic society. ICLP enables students to achieve broad and independent competence in spoken Chinese and to develop reading skills needed for academic research or professional use. In combination with cultural activities that explore the culture of Taiwan and the Chinese language in depth, ICLP provides students with learning experiences that are fully immersive and beyond the classroom. ICLP offers quarter terms and classes are conducted in 1 one-on-one class and 3 group classes (2-4 students) per day, totaling 20 hours per week. Additionally, ICLP also offers Chinese Gap Year (CGY) in Taipei for pre-university students and customized 1-1 programs.
