"continuous reflection, active learning, involvement, and action"
Teamwork:
We used teamwork every day to accomplish the daily tasks that were given to us by each organization.
The picture to the right was taken at Feeding America. As you can see we each have our own station and we worked together to sort food items. In just 3 hours we sorted over 9000lbs of food. All thanks to teamwork.
Motivation:
Our first organization that we helped was an organization called Guest House. They serve homeless adult men. Their shelter has 86 beds and provide meals, showers, clothing, and hygiene supplies.
The paintings to your left were both painted by a man who used the Guest House to get back on his feet. During his stay he painted the first painting, he wanted to show that there is a sense of community when you are homeless.
He eventually left Guest House and no longer needs their services. He was asked and commissioned to paint the second painting that you see to the left after Guest House decided to expand. It hangs in the new extension of the building, he is now a successful painter.
Goals:
The photo to the right was taken at a day shelter called The Repairers of the Breach. When we arrived, the first task they asked us to do was clean and organize this room. Sadly we did not get any before pictures, but this after picture speaks volumes. When we got there, this room was a complete mess. There was so much on the floor that there was barely any room to walk from one side to the other. Afterwards, everything had a place and there was even room to house more items!
