Initiatory and Coven Work

Many Wiccan Traditions are what are initiatory Trads. The Correllian Nativist Tradition of Wicca is one of the initiatory Traditions. What I mean by this is that the Tradition isn't just a chance for people to get together and socialize--it does have that component, but it also a place of work and study. Life is a journey in learning new things and your spirituality is no exception to the rule.

In our Tradition, people go through steps or processes where they show their membership in the Tradition. Each step is an acknowledgement of your hard work and your commitment. As such, we have:

  1. Dedicant

  2. First Degree

  3. Second Degree

  4. Third Degree (High Priest/ess)

To accomplish this, we hold rituals, celebrations, and we spend time actively studying and learning. To be able to earn your degrees, you must also be enrolled in Witch School at https://witchschool.com/ . Keep in mind this requirement is solely for your Degrees in the Correllian Tradition. It does not mean that you are any less of a Wiccan if you do not choose this route.

Just to keep things clear here, you do not have to be initiated as a Wiccan to be a Wiccan. Initiation helps identify your membership in a specific group or Tradition, but it is not the act of initiation that makes you Wiccan. Your status as a Wiccan is actually between you and the God and Goddess. Dedication si when you commit yourself to the religion and to the Gods; no one can demand proof from you of your dedication.
