The IGD (Intel Gather & Disruption) training is a training made by CID Command to make sure all officers within the MET are what to do if they have a member of a criminal organisation in their custody and to help the officers to also gather intel. All Metropolitan Police Officers must be IGD trained before being able to apply for CID or TRIDENT Support. This can be done by a CID Inspector+ or TRIDENT members. Any CID, Trident and CTSFO member must be advanced IGD trained.
There are 2 IGD trainings people within the MPS can do, the first one being the basic IGD training and the second one being the advanced IGD training. The basic IGD training is made for all officers with in the MET who are willing to get invested in RP, whereas the advanced IGD training is for officers in RP cantered divisions such as CID, Trident or CTSFO to assist with gathering intel.
An organised crime group is a group of people specialised in committing crimes whether it is the concern in the supply of illegal drugs, weapons or even committing robberies and murders. These crime groups can usually be identified by their outfits as they tend to wear specific outfits to identify each other easier.
CID, TRIDENT and CTSFO members tend to take on this organized crime and will be trained on how to deal with them. If you wish to find out more please refer to the following links.
After gathering any intel on a gang member committing crimes, you must submit an intel form so CID, TRIDENT and CTSFO can act upon this intel. An intel form can be found in the pinned messages of #trident-info.
If you see a gang member committing any crimes, please request any CID, TRIDENT or CTSFO members to come to your location.Â
If you see a gang member however they have not committed a crime, DO NOT arrest them unless they have a warrant out for their arrest.
When arresting the gang member, DO NOT read them their rights. Request any CID, TRIDENT or CTSFO members. If none are available, process the individual as normal however you are able to conduct a voluntary interview with the individual.
NOTE: If the suspect has a warrant for arrest, you can charge them with ALL crimes on the warrant under Section 45, Serious Crime Act 2015 - When someone takes part in criminal activities whilst part of a gang, also being part of a known gang makes them guilty by association for the crimes committed by said gang.
If you are arresting a gang member due to a warrant, please refer to the #warrant-board Discord channel to confirm if they have been arrested prior. If the suspect is not on the warrant board, please send evidence to any TRIDENT command member and they shall be added.
An interview is a voluntary situation where a gang member volunteers information to any member of the MPS. By interviewing individuals, you can reduce their time by 10 months. Any lower would be corruption. The aim for questioning is to allow any member of the MPS to involve themselves in the gang roleypoley, which results in intelligence being submitted allowing TRIDENT to then utilise the information to tackle gun and gang crime.
A questioning is where an Advanced IGD Trained officer will actively question the individual who has been detained as opposed to voluntarily giving up information. No force is permitted to be utilised in questionings, however, officers will question them and utilise techniques such as 'Good cop, Bad cop' to gain information from the suspect.
An interrogation is utilising force and threats to extract information from a suspect. Forms of non-lethal force can be used in order to make the suspect uncomfortable. Basic IGD Trained officers may ask questions but not use force at any point. An Advanced IGD Trained officer may ask questions, and use force but only with authorisation from TRIDENT or Gold Command alongside permission from the interregator themselves. This auth can only be given if TRIDENT or Gold Command are present at the interrogation as well. Please refer to the TRIDENT Hub for further information.
If you are interviewing a gang member after an arrest, you can do any of the following:
Reduce their time (if over 10 months) by a maximum of 10 months.
Exchange phone numbers so they can provide intelligence in the future.
Agree to a conversation between TRIDENT Command and the Gang.
Spend between 5 and 10 minutes interviewing them before their lawyer arrives.
If you are interviewing a gang member after an arrest, you must NOT do any of the following:
Use any form of force (Tazers, Batons, Guns etc.)
Threaten them
Increase their time (unless if they attempt to escape your custody)
Give them intel
Let them go
Reduce their time below if their sentence is below 10 months
Deny their rights to a lawyer (unless there's a valid reason to do so, following regular guidelines)
Interviews - Any member who is IGD Trained can conduct them, and the suspects sentence can be reduced by a MAXIMUM of 10 Months.
Questionings - Only Advanced IGD Trained members can conduct them, and suspects can earn significantly lower sentences.
Interrogations - Only Advanced IGD Trained members can conduct them, and they are able to use non-lethal force aswell as threats.
TRIDENT, CID and TRIDENT Support including CTSFO identities are heavily protected under Pace Code C Section 2.6-A, and therefore any members of the Metropolitan Police service should never utilise these officers personal information. Bare in mind, you do NOT know their names etc. in city in roleypoley.
If you name an officer at any point, you can receive a T1 punishment, even if this is inside Mission Row, Vespucci or whilst you are being interrogated. You do not know their names in character.
All officers in CID, Trident support, CTSFO and Trident must get there advanced IGD training done. The purpose of this training is to give all the prior listed members perks to assist them when dealing with organised crime.
Some of these perks are,
QUESTION suspects from organised crime organisations,
ability to use the /policecamera,
