As a member of the Criminal Investigations Department, there are a few requirements that you should be aware of:
You must complete a minimum of 1.5 hours per week clocked onto CID
You should prioritise intel submissions.
You should never reveal your identity to anybody
You should never call a masked officer by their name, call them by their callsigns. This applies EVERYWHERE in the city, such as mission row, SCO-19 training grounds, organ, hospitals, within RP, out of RP etc. Failure to do so will result in T1s being issued.
Always change your outfit, if your cover has been blown.
Only put your police clothing on if ABSOLUTELY necessary. You do not want to blow your cover, ever.
If a member of a gang or any situation breaks a server rule, you are to maintain your roleplay, remain in character and forward any complaints to TRIDENT command. The command team then liaises with the gang, CMG Staff and RP Support to ensure standards are improved yet maintained by TRIDENT/CID.
Intelligence gathering: One of the main purposes of CID is to gather intelligence of illegal activities across the city. There are many ways that this can be completed, for example going undercover or just storing information seen through daily patrol.
Undercover operations: CID tend to assist in operations, often being the reason that operations are created due to CID members gathering intelligence. There has been multiple instances of CID members investigating locations prior to operations to gather intelligence to inform an ongoing operation allowing for strategy to become a factor of operations.
Stings: CID Detective Sergeants+ are able to perform stings on potential illegal situations occurring throughout the city. An example of this would be pretending to purchase drugs from a drug dealer and arresting them once the evidence required has been gathered.
PPO: Once you become a CID Detective Sergeant, you are allowed to become a PPO (Personal Protection Officer). This gives you the chance to protect any member of the Gold/Silver/TRIDENT Command team. These opportunities often happen at MPS Meetings, which is on Sunday at 6:30 PM. Sometimes the Gold Command team patrols and requires PPOs for their protection from gangs or other crime organisations.

Taken hostage as CID?
If you are taken hostage when clocked on CID, you should do your best to identify yourself and keep your cover at all costs.
If you blow your cover at this stage, it will most likely end in your life being taken. Try and avoid this AT ALL COSTS. Any information you gather that you haven’t safely processed at your time of death will be invalid and you must forget this. Failure to do so is considered metagaming as per CMG rules, and CID has a zero tolerance for ruining RP.
Corruption
It is NOT corruption to disregard a crime committed by an Organised Crime Group , on the condition that you are utilising bodycam footage and /policecamera to correctly gather, and submit evidence to be used as intelligence. This allows a legal case to be built against the Organised Crime Group so that they can be brought to justice.
This rule only applies to known Organised Crime Groups, and is not to be abused. For example, if you see a random member of the public committing a crime, they must be arrested and sentenced accordingly. If you fail to arrest them, then this would be considered corruption and punishable by PD regulations.
If you would like to further understand what can or cannot be done with authorisation, please contact a member of TRIDENT command.

What is entrapment?
Entrapment is where officers intice individuals to commit a crime that they would not have already committed. For example, if someone is selling a gun and you intercept, this is not entrapment. At the same time, if you set someone up to sell a gun or entice them to do it when they have never advertised it, this would be considered entrapment.
Can I be part of an organisation, family, or gang as a civilian if my officer character is a member of TRIDENT, TRIDENT Support or CID?
No, you cannot be part of an organisation, family, or gang as a civilian if you are a member of TRIDENT, TRIDENT Support or CID. This is to prevent metagaming.
