Members of the Criminal Investigations Department can complete 6 trainings:

• Basic IGD Training - Any member of the MPS

• Advanced IGD Training - CID Detective Constable+, TRIDENT Support

• Drone Training - CID Detective Constable+

• Sting Training - CID Detective Sergeant+

• PPO Training - CID Detective Sergeant+

• SMG Training - Only for PPOs with SMG only authorised to be used when protecting Gold Command. For example, not to be used on general patrol or in organ. When protecting TRIDENT or Silver command, a PPO must not use an SMG and should resort back to their divisionally authorised weaponry.

• Basic IGD Training - CID Inspector+

• Advanced IGD Training - CID Inspector+

• Drone Training - NPAS Flight Instructor+

• Sting Training - CID Inspector+

• PPO Training - SCO-19 OFC+

• SMG Training - Only for PPOs with SMG only to be used when conducting PPO duties. For example, not to be used on general patrol or in organ.
