I have been involved in various projects regarding teaching and learning. These projects have informed improved teaching and learning practices in the Department and Faculty, as well as inspired more research into teaching and learning. Two projects have been published, one paper is accepted and one is ongoing.
Published works
With Ms Rochelle Beukes and Prof. Derek Yu, we investigated the causes of low attendance in first-year Economics students. Published in the South African Journal of Higher Education.
A project with Dr Karen dos Reis, Profs Fiona Anciano, and Derek Yu focused on the examinations of UWC and the application of Bloom's taxonomy to it. Published in the South African Journal of Higher Education.
Works in Progress
With Profs Fiona Anciano, Derek Yu and Dr Danica Sims, we investigate the Bloom's taxonomy and its application across various levels. Awaiting Ethical Clearance for conducting interviews.
The history of formalising education in South Africa is understudied while data exists in the Western Cape Archives to study this. This project serves as Ms Beukes' doctoral dissertation.
