In December 2017, the NASDE Board, which is comprised of NASDE event directors, re-affirmed their decision to keep gender restrictions in Showcase and Classic routine divisions. See NASDE Rules (effective January 1, 2018).
Moreover, NASDE refused to make public which NASDE event directors voted for/against gender restrictions.
There were 12 NASDE events at the time of the vote. Five out of the 12 events made public statements that they voted to remove gender restrictions: MadJam, Swingtime in the Rockies, Capital Swing, Easter Swing, and Boogie by the Bay.
You can advocate by contacting your local NASDE event director to ask them how they voted and encourage them to vote to remove gender restrictions next time the issue comes up for vote.
Here is a list of the NASDE event directors that did not disclose their vote:
The next NASDE meeting will take place at Grand Nationals at 10am on Saturday, May 27, 2018. It is not open to the public.
