Hi, I’m Brian, the President of the Chess Club at UCR and a fourth-year Psychology major. I first learned chess through an elementary after-school program but stepped away after a tough loss in my first tournament. During COVID-19, I rediscovered my love for the game and have been playing consistently on Chess.com ever since. My favorite opening is the Caro-Kann Defense, and my preferred time format is 3-0 blitz.

Professional/Chess Experience

• Represented UCR in the innagural year of Chess.com College Ambassador Program

• Won "President of the Year" award by the Office of Student Life for his work with Chess Club at UCR in the 2023 - 2024 school year

• Won the Fall 2024 Rapid Chess Tournament
