WHAT?: We will be helping with the Stockton School Fair by running games, helping kids with crafting, selling food/concessions, check in table (ticket sales), prizes, and more!

Interact Club is writing Pen Pal Letters to Kindergarteners at Bret Harte Elementary, and mixed grades at Cooper Elementary
Our 2024 CAN-Struction
"Ready to Explore the Universe!"
On May 4th, Interact Club joined our sponsor, the Rotary Club of Cherry Hill, to participate in this year's Canstruction project. With help from Ravitz ShopRite, Interact and Rotary used 3,500 cans to build a Rocket, designed by Rotarian, Dave Lummis.
Canstruction is a nonprofit organization that hosts annual competitions, showcasing structures made entirely of cans of food.
ALL cans used at the Canstruction will be donated to the Food Bank of S. Jersey
This year's CAN-Struction Design by Rotarian, Dave Lummis. The theme is "Send Hunger to a Galaxy Far Far Away"
On Sunday, April 14th, Interact Club helped with the JRA food packing and distribution. The Jewish Relief Agency (JRA) serves individuals and families coping with food insecurity. During JRA's Monthly LOCAL Food Distribution program, volunteers pack and hand-deliver free, nutritious food and essential household supplies to individuals in need. Volunteers of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome to volunteer.
Interact Club helped Cooper School with their K-5 literacy night on Thurs, March 7th for Read Across America Week
RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS DAY - FEBRUARY 17th
We met after school to design hearts with words and images of love,
encouragement, kindness to hang around the school in honor of Valentine's Day & RAK Day.
We met on the following dates:
*Tuesday, January 30th - Caf I from 2:45pm-3:45pm
*Monday, February 5th - Caf I from 2:45pm-3:45pm
*Thursday, February 8th - Caf I from 2:45pm-3:45pm
On SUNDAY, January 21st, we joined SOAR to have pizza, decorate cookies & play fun board games!
On SUNDAY, January 14th at 10:00am,
we joined Temple Beth Sholom for the following activities in observance of MLK Jr Day of Service:
-Baked dog biscuits that will be donated to Voorhees Animal Orphanage
-Made sandwiches & put together bagged lunches for homeless shelters in Camden
-Put together chemo comfort bags for Cooper University Hospital
-Knit/crocheted hats and scarves that will be donated to Juntos
-Learned from League of Women Voters about voter rights
-Learned from Moms Demand Action about gun safety advocacy
-Wrote letters to elected officials supporting rights of refugees
- Made cards for children in an orphanage in Haiti

We went to Stockton Elementary School on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12th
Each Interact Club student brought a Kindergarten-level book to read to and gift to a Kindergarten student.
We also did a Community Service coloring project with the Kindergarteners
We sent out 75 letters of gratitude for Military and Veterans (Deployed Troops, Recruit Grads & Veterans) for the month of November, in honor of Veteran's Day 11/11 and World Kindness Day 11/13.

Interact Club volunteered at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Light the Night" with shifts from 9am-8pm

*You purchase 1 full box for $60.00 from Ms. Barr (via check made out to "CH East Interact" or cash)
*You sell the chocolate bars you purchased for $1.00 each and make your ($60.00) money back
*Let people know that the money you are making goes towards the Sickle Cell Association of NJ
*Each box you sell earns you 1 full community service hour

Sickle Cell Association of NJ (SCANJ)
SCANJ is a 501c3 non profit community based agency established on September 1, 2009 to assist the sickle cell community with non – medical needs such as, support groups, transition, education, access to research, resource sharing, family follow up and other programs that improve their quality of life. SCANJ seeks to work in partnership with the many dedicated health care professionals who provide much needed care for the sickle cell community and is open to individuals, sickle cell treatment centers, health care providers and organizations that support sickle cell disease services in the State of New Jersey.
Although it was a rainy and cold day, Interact Club worked hard to sort & distribute the PTA mum orders on Tuesday, 9/26/23

Interact Club got together on Labor Day to decorate the sidewalks of East with welcoming messages and drawings for the first day of school
