New Jersey State Museum Educational Programs:

The Wide World of Weather

2nd grade and up

THIS PROGRAM RUNS AT THE SAME TIME AS DINO MOTION. OUR GROUP WILL SPLIT ACCORDING TO AGE.

Explore Earth's dynamic weather and climate patterns, projected onto our interactive Magic Planet, and experiment with an electrifying weather phenomenon.

If you wish, pack a lunch and come at 11:30pm to eat together in the cafeteria.

Program runs from 1pm to 1:45pm.

The museum asks that we arrive by 12:30pm at the latest.

Parking is available in the parking garage adjacent to the museum. Street parking is also available.

Feel free to explore the museum after the program. The program fee includes museum access. The museum is open from 9am to 4:45pm.

Pre K (age 3)- 1st grade

THIS PROGRAM RUNS AT THE SAME TIME AS THE WIDE WORLD OF WEATHER. OUR GROUP WILL SPLIT ACCORDING TO AGE.

What can you learn from a footprint? In the program geared toward younger children, they will learn how dinosaurs navigated through their environment as we combine art, imaginative play and real fossils. Your "heard" of young paleontologists will even create a life-sized dinosaur trackway with their own "dinosaur" footprints.

If you wish, pack a lunch and come at 11:30pm to eat together in the cafeteria.

Playdate at the Warehouse

Join us the first Friday of every month at our winter warehouse location between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. Get the kids together to play while the homeschooling moms chat. Bring a snack for your kids or one to share. Come at whatever time works for you and stay for as long or as short as you can. We hope to see you there!

Valentine's Party

Join us for our potluck style Valentine's Party. We will enjoy lunch together followed by crafts, games and activities. We will be participating in a service project of making suncatchers and greeting cards for the elderly. We will be delivering our gifts to a nursing home on February 27th.

Time: 12pm to 3pm

Tyler Park Program: Owls

Learn all about owls with Mrs. Bonnie Tobin

Time: 1pm-2:30pm

If you wish, pack a lunch and come at 12pm to eat lunch as a group.

There will be a preschool program for the children who are not participating in the Owl Program.

Join us as we visit a nursing home and make new friends. We will be playing bingo with the residents and delivering the suncatchers and cards that we made at the Valentine's Party.

Time: 2:30-3:30pm
