Katie Sears is a nerdy STEM enthusiast. In the span of a year she went from helping lead an all female FIRST Tech Challenge team to being in engineering classes at Chaska with little to no other females. This was shocking to her and she wanted to help work to limit this gender gap. She worked to help connect and inspire females with professionals in the workplace. She started the club's outreach to the local middle and elementary scholars and was a captain of Chaska High School's FIRST Robotics competition team.

During Aerith's freshman year, she found herself as the only girl in her Introduction to Engineering and Design class. As the focus of her Product Design & Development Capstone, she researched into the gender disparity of high school STEM classes in Eastern Carver County Schools and developed Chaska Women in STEM. Her other involvements include being a captain for Chaska High School's FIRST Robotics Competition team.
