Chaska Women in STEM is a student-led organization founded by Aerith Cruz in 2019.
During Aerith's freshman year, she found herself as the only girl in her Introduction to Engineering and Design class. As the focus of her Product Design & Development Capstone, she researched into the gender disparity of high school STEM classes in Eastern Carver County Schools and developed Chaska Women in STEM.
The club aims to help reduce this gender disparity and to encourage females at Chaska High School and the overall Carver County School District to get excited about and get involved in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics!
Gabby began her role as Chaska Women in STEM leader during her sophomore year alongside Alex Jackson. This year, as a junior, Gabby is leading the STEM group again. She is involved in many activities here at Chaska High School including soccer, our award-winning robotics team, and several other extra-curriculars.
Mrs. Stewart is Chaska High School's AP Coordinator, a former science teacher, and a proud supporter for Chaska Women in STEM!
