CELLUBONG 24-25
The CELLubong 24-25 event warmly welcomed both returning and first-year students, creating a sense of belonging and camaraderie within the CELLS community. Held from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, the event featured a simple booth where students could interact, connect, and engage in an exciting mini-game that rewarded them with small treats. This initiative encouraged social engagement and inclusivity, making it a fun and memorable experience, especially for the first-year students. The booth also served as a space for students to reconnect, exchange conversations, and capture moments together. Beyond the games and giveaways, the event highlighted the hospitality and welcoming spirit of the organization, ensuring that new students felt comfortable and valued. Due to health concerns caused by heavy fog, students were later advised by the municipal office to return home to avoid any risks. Despite this, the event successfully fulfilled its goal of motivating students and setting a positive tone for the new academic year.
Following the event, the CELLS officers took the initiative to clean and pack up the venue, ensuring everything was properly organized. The success of CELLubong 24-25 demonstrated the organization's commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging environment for students. By promoting active social interaction and meaningful connections, the event set the foundation for a strong and united academic community. This initiative not only welcomed students but also encouraged a spirit of companionship that will continue throughout the year.
CELLSGram: Bulletin Board
The officers of the Circle of English Language and Literature Students (CELLS) recognized the importance of a bulletin board as a vital communication tool for keeping members informed about upcoming plans, projects, and announcements. On August 28, 2024, the officers gathered at the reading hub to revamp their bulletin board, dedicating their time and effort from early morning until 2:30 in the afternoon. With commitment and teamwork, they carefully designed an engaging and informative board to enhance communication within the organization. One officer took charge of designing the layout, while others cut out printed images showcasing past CELLS activities, university goals, and announcements. A "tarpapel" background was added to make the board more visually appealing, aligning with the theme "CELLSgram." Meanwhile, two officers cleaned the display area, ensuring that the board was properly showcased. The team worked
together to arrange the materials, placing key elements such as the vision, mission, and core values in prominent positions. To make the board more engaging, they also added images from previous events, fostering a sense of community among members.
Despite taking longer than expected, the officers enjoyed the process, using the time to discuss future CELLS activities and strengthen their bond. The teamwork and shared enthusiasm made the project not only productive but also a moment of camaraderie. The new bulletin board turned out vibrant, informative, and visually appealing, effectively fulfilling its purpose of keeping members updated. It stood as a testament to the officers' dedication and collaboration in enhancing organizational communication. Their hard work resulted in a meaningful accomplishment that will benefit CELLS members for the rest of the academic year. This successful initiative inspired them to take on future projects with the same commitment and enthusiasm.
The Circle of English Language and Literature Students (CELLS) launched the Fabric on Cycle project on September 11, 2024, to acquire reusable materials for future organizational events. The project aimed to reduce costs by eliminating the need to rent fabrics, ensuring that CELLS had a long-lasting resource for decorations and other event purposes. The officers took responsibility for purchasing various fabrics that would suit different themes and aesthetics. They began their journey early in the morning, traveling to Lipa Public Market to find high-quality, durable fabrics that could be used multiple times. By carefully planning their purchases, they ensured that the selected materials would be cost-effective while maintaining visual appeal. Their search for the right fabric started at 8:00 AM, focusing on durability and practicality. The officers had already identified the required colors and quantities to ensure sufficient material for upcoming events.
After exploring different stores and comparing options, the officers purchased 18 yards of Golden Yellow fabric, 7 yards of White fabric, 30 yards of Orange fabric, and 16 yards of Black fabric at Ellen Textile for a total of Php 1,775. They also bought an eco bag for Php 30 to carry their purchases conveniently. After completing their shopping at noon, they traveled back to Jose B. Zuno Campus, spending a total of Php 1,930 on the project. The initiative successfully provided CELLS with sustainable materials for future use, demonstrating resourcefulness and proactive financial management. Beyond the financial benefits, the project fostered teamwork and responsibility among the officers, who worked together to improve the organization’s resources. Their efforts ensured that CELLS would have well-prepared materials for future events while avoiding unnecessary rental expenses.

The Circle of English Language and Literature Students (CELLS) once again demonstrated its dedication to advocacy and community engagement through “EcoHeroes: The Great Clean-up Adventure.” This initiative aimed to instill environmental responsibility by conducting a campus-wide clean-up while also supporting CELLSupport, an outreach program that provides financial aid to less fortunate CELLIANs. The event began with an orientation led by Chairwoman Cathleen Joy D. Ramos, who emphasized the importance of collective action in creating meaningful change. Participants, consisting of CELLS officers, members, and volunteers, were divided into teams and assigned specific zones to ensure an organized and efficient clean-up. Armed with gloves, garbage bags, and tongs, they diligently worked to collect litter, sort recyclables, and restore the cleanliness of hallways, pathways, gardens, and other key areas of the campus.
By 11:20 AM, the campus had been transformed into a cleaner, greener space, demonstrating the impact of teamwork and commitment to sustainability. In addition to its environmental success, the initiative raised PHP 100.00 through voluntary contributions, which was donated to CELLSupport, furthering CELLS’ mission of social outreach. To sustain these efforts, CELLS introduced a monitoring system where student representatives will oversee campus cleanliness, ensuring that the values imparted during the event continue to thrive. More than just a clean-up drive, EcoHeroes embodied CELLS’ core values of compassion, unity, and service, proving that small, collective efforts can lead to lasting change. This initiative left a profound impact on the CELLIAN community, reinforcing the power of advocacy and the importance of being stewards of both the environment and society.
