Education & Career

Pathway

EduWorkforce CDA Gold has an identified educational pathway linked to a career pathway.

EduWorkforce CDA Gold leads to early childhood education industry certification. Our programs are build to tie the certification to CDA candidates program of study. Field experience as required by the Council for Professional Recognition, and serve as a complement to a student’s learning experience with EduWorkforce CDA Gold.

We recognize that stand alone certifications with no ties to a student’s learning experience place the student in jeopardy of being unprepared not only to sit for the certification but also to apply the content moving forward in a career path. At EduWorkforce, we support our students in finding educational programs where they can work (payed or unpaid) toward the 480-hour of work experience required for the certification.

The CDA certificate could lead to teacher certificate, supervisor/ director of childcare certificates or an AAS in Social and Human Services at some community college.

"The Child Development Associate (CDA) is the first best step!" CDA is the first step in many child and family studies certificate and degree pathways. With EduWorkforce CDA Gold training, we are confident that our students will enter the career pathway with the option to become an assistant teacher or lead teacher at a preschool center based setting, infants/toddler center based setting, home school setting or become a home visitor. The CDA certificate might be accepted as entry level, for childcare center assistant director position, depending on the state. With a CDA certificate, CDA certificate holders can also work with school-age childcare, before and after school programs in public and private schools.

CDA certification courses through Eduworkforce, in the early childhood educational pathway, prepares students to readily engage in the next level. See the Virginia early childhood pathway below.
