Initial works by volunteers included the provision of period signage and notice boards around the site as well as general maintenence and upkeep which would become a regular occurance.  All the traditional picket fencing on the site was repainted by volunteers in the spring.

Thr group also began sourcing old fashioned tinplate advertisement signed which began appearing on the walls and the fences, using undisplayed signs from the museum and obtaining several of these second hand from funds raised in the first year.
