Cycle Tourism: What We Have to Offer - Bob Peltzer

About Bob Peltzer

Bob is a former school teacher who moved from the United States to Canada in 1986 as owner of Opeongo Mountain Resort. He has served as a Director for the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association for more than twenty yeas and for twelve years as its president. Bob has also been elected to two municipal councils, serving over 20 years in elected office. While he has had a lifelong interest in cycling and adventure tourism he has been able to aggressively pursue those interest since selling his business in 2014.

Finding himself with the freedom to rediscover his love of adventure on two wheels, Bob has crossed two continents and most of third on his bicycles since retiring. He has pedaled thousands of kilometers in numerous countries in Europe, North America, Australia and Asia, learning much about different approaches to cycle tourism in the process. However, his true love is cycling here in Eastern Ontario and he has explored its interconnected network of rail trails, bush roads and rural roadways with an eye to sharing that adventure with others.
