What are you willing to do? What are our next steps as a group in promoting cycle tourism!
A. Benches for resting (sponsored )
B. Investments in infrastructure in signs and shelters. (side note: Trail heads!)
C. Work on base, town councils and town staff to promote tourism from trail to town (Deep River connector trail from Algonquin Trail)
D. Create local loops and rides from local knowledge or software, ride and revise, promote and improve ride and infrastructure (SIDE NOTE: Creating Trail heads at the start of trails and loops)
E. Take advantage of federal tourism growth strategy with outdoor and recreation trails focus
F. Cyclist lens for events and local services
G. Educate businesses on how to be cycle friendly
H. Parking for cyclists
I. Group Marketing Buys and Group Resources
J. Campaign on Trail Etiquette/Awareness/Safety - Share the trail and civility
K. Targeted cycling route to the audience / local rides and groups/ multi-day rides and overnights
L. Overcome jurisdictional borders ( work together)
M. Communication: Staying connected (touch points to know what we are working on)
N. Collaborate with Neighbours
O. Start where we’re at. promote what’s already there and build on it
P. Meet with Prescott-Russel Recreation Trail to try and overcome gaps in integration with Ottawa Valley Trail Network
Q. Encouraging businesses to become certified as Bike Friendly and Municipalities to supply infrastructure
R. Build partnerships for east on rail trail route
S. Co-ordination: Reps from each area focused on a goal as funding requires multi-stakeholder collaboration
T. Businesses to become cycle friendly
U. Gathering/Collecting regional cycling routes in one place ( ie DMO/RTO websites and maps)
V. Sharing info - cycling friendly businesses, location of service on apps and websites
W. Steal idea from others “make it yours”
