This is a photo of the timeline for the community agreement being formed between Morgan Park Academy and the surrounding community. The purpose of a community agreement is to improve the quality of the school and in turn the quality of the community. The facilitator of this community agreement held a forum with parents, where questions, comments, and concerns were voiced. The facilitator then did the same with the faculty and staff at the school. Lastly, the faciliator did the same with students in grades 6-12 at the school. With feedback from all parties, we are going to reconvene and discuss ways that the school can improve. By participating in this community agreement, I have learned that there is always room for improvement. I have also learned how much of a positive impact community involvement can have on a school and in turn, how impactful schools are on their surrounding communities.
Understands the importance of participating on collaborative and problem-solving teams to create effective academic and behavioral interventions for all students.
The SST referral form is a form that teachers at my school use to express concerns about student behavior. SST stands for student support team. This artifact connects to standard 8F because after filling out this form, all of the teachers who work with that student as well as the school counselor and the principal meet to collaborate about ways that they can help improve student behavior. The purpose of this form and being a part of the student support team is to create effective academic and behavioral interventions so that all students can succeed. I have learned a lot through being a part of student support teams. Gaining perspective from teachers in other subject areas has helped me be a better teacher for my students; I have learned many new ways to approach classroom management and behavior intervention.
