A Bit about cari...

Cari Elledge grew up in a RURAL setting and attended BANNER ELEMENTARY (a K-8 DEPENDENT school between Yukon and El Reno). A graduate of EL RENO HIGH SCHOOL, Cari enrolled at the UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA where she obtained her BACHELOR OF SCIENCE degree in ELEMENTARY EDUCATION. Cari's coursework at OU included an emphasis in COMMUNICATIONS, POLITICAL SCIENCE, & EDUCATION. While working on her undergraduate degree, Cari was awarded the ELEMENTARY EDUCATION TEACHER OF THE YEAR.

Upon getting hired for her first teaching position at JOHN ADAMS ELEMENTARY in NORMAN, OK, Cari immediately enrolled in a graduate program at OU in INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP & ACADEMIC CURRICULUM with an emphasis in READING & SOCIAL STUDIES EDUCATION. Cari was also recognized by the University in her first year of teaching as RESIDENT TEACHER OF THE YEAR. She obtained her MASTERS OF EDUCATION degree in 2008.

Cari is a FIFTH GRADE TEACHER who most enjoys working with EXCEPTIONAL LEARNERS - a DIVERSE group of students ACADEMICALLY, CULTURALLY, & SOCIALLY. Cari's greatest strength in the classroom is BUILDING COMMUNITY.

In her current role, Cari serves as FULL-TIME RELASE PRESIDENT of the PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS OF NORMAN (PEN).

Cari has also proudly served on the OEA BOARD OF DIRECTORS representing SW-B.
