Being involved in youth sports in not just volunteering or working, but a calling. By becoming a part of our team, you have chosen to work with the young athletes of our community. You have chosen to guide them through the trials and tribulations of learning two beautiful games: sport and life. You are in a position to change their lives forever, not only by making them better athletes, but more importantly, better people. You are a leader, you are a role model, you are a person who serves your athletes, and you are a person to whom they entrust their physical and emotional well-being.
Your words and actions can have a huge impact in the lives of our players, both positively and negatively. We are faced with moments of success and failure, and with calls from officials both good and bad. Our words and actions in these situations can stick with our players forever. We believe that being a volunteer or staff is so much more than running a bunch of practices and organizing kids for games. It is about connecting with your players as people first, and athletes second. It is about being passionate, and loving the game you teach, so your players will play with passion and love. It is about empathy, making every player feel important, and giving him or her a role on the team. It is about integrity and consistency for kids during good times and bad. It is about being a model of the behavior you expect from your athletes, both on and off the field. It is about being a teacher, not only of the X’s and O’s of a sport, but about life, about optimism, about persistence, and about character. No, coaching or officiating cannot simply be a job. It must be a vocation, a calling to a place that best suits your skills, your passion and your ability. You can change lives with a single word, a single “air five,” and a single conversation that says “I believe in you.” The world needs great coaches and officials more than ever before. The world needs YOU!
All of our youth sports leagues and programs are driven by a clear set of core values. We are committed to providing a high quality youth sports experience for our staff, volunteers, participants, parents, coaches and spectators.
We work on creating a learning environment that allows athletes to make mistakes, learn and grow. Ultimately, youth sports and our programs should help create future ethical leaders and positive contributors to our communities.
We provide structured, progressive lesson planning and coach training for every grade level in our program so that each child’s experience is valuable and consistent. We are committed to providing all kids with a strong, fundamental set of skills and strategies that will prepare them with the ability and confidence to pursue a sport competitively, or recreational, as they choose! We work on creating a learning environment that allows athletes to make mistakes, learn and grow.
Regardless of a child’s background or level of skill, there is a place for them here! We seek to remove barriers to participation, including talent barriers, financial barriers and / or social barriers. Everyone in our programs is appreciated for the unique traits and talents they bring to their team, and to our leagues. From our most skilled athletes, down to our beginners who are experiencing the game for the first time, we believe that our diversity makes us ALL better by providing opportunities to develop our skills as well as our leadership, compassion, and tolerance.
We want the sports experience to be so positive and encouraging, that every child will want to stay engaged in the sport/activity for life, regardless of whether they pursue it competitively or not. We reject the idea that sports are only worth playing if they can be played at a high level… we strive to develop physically literate kids who are compelled to play in their free time, and who are equipped to succeed at the competitive level if they choose, and who are inspired to teach and coach the next generation when their opportunity arrives.
By getting kids involved in youth sports, we're not just nurturing athletic skills; we're cultivating values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience that will serve them well throughout their lives.
As these young athletes grow and carry these lessons into adulthood, they become positive role models and leaders in their communities, inspiring future generations to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle, thus perpetuating a cycle of well-being and vitality for years to come.
Through the transformative power of youth sports, we're not only shaping individual lives but also contributing to the creation of healthier, happier, and more connected communities, ultimately changing the world one youth sports player at a time.
