Is Youth And Government for me? I have asked myself this question multiple times, as I'm sure we all have. Even once I had decided I wanted to keep attending YAG, I was very unsure as to whether I wanted to go to Olympia. Everyone who has attended the Olympia trip has told me it is an amazing experience, but I was still unsure; I am not a very outgoing person, so the Olympia trip is quite a big step outside my comfort zone. But I have decided to go because of how positive of an experience it has been for all the other delegates in my delegation.
YAG has a lot of different positions that meet the interests of different people. I personally am being a part of the press this year because I thoroughly enjoy writing and reporting. If you’re thinking YAG might not be for you, I highly suggest you check it out. There's a lot more going on than you think there would be! There are positions for everyone that will suit your interests, debate, reporting, being a security guard. There are many other positions, but it would take far too long to list them here.
Have you ever wanted to make a law? Well with YAG, you have the chance to make a real law. Of course, it's a lengthy process filled with debate and hard work. Even after that, if your bill doesn't pass, it's well worth the experience. What I'm trying to say here is, even if you don't think YAG is for you, give it a try because you will most likely enjoy it!
