During this nerve-racking time leading up to our desired three days of exciting debate time, we gather today on Wednesday, May 5th to hear some amazing speakers. Patiently waiting for everyone to arrive in the room, with mics muted, I think to myself about how brave all the speakers are to turn their cameras and mics on in front of over a hundred people after weeks of little to no communication during these constricted times, to uplift these future leaders. One of the speakers said, something about Youth and Government giving the participants confidence, and when I was in class, I saw growth in the delegation I am part of. Being in Youth and Government was definitely a confidence boost for many people in my delegation, and I am sure in many others. Just having the opportunity to speak up on topics that someone is very passionate about will give them confidence to speak up or disagree with someone else's ideas because they know from personal experience how intense it is to speak one's mind.
