VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering for Camp LogJam 2022
Camp LogJam 2024 requires volunteers to help run the camp program. Offers of Service volunteers can volunteer to attend either or both of the camps of Camp LogJam 2024. There are many tasks that need to be done before and during the camp.
Camp LogJam 2024 volunteers may be older Scouts (aged 13-14) Venturer Scouts, Rover Scouts, and Scouts Canada Leaders in any Section.
Offers of Service volunteers help plan the camp programs (using Zoom), and may be asked to do pre-camp preparations such as helping to assemble craft kits or take on the organizing and running specific aspects of the camp program.
Offers of Service volunteers will be expected to arrive at Camp Byng at least one day before the start of camp to help with setup, will be assigned various tasks during the operation of the camps, and are expected to stay after the end of the second camp to assist with dismantling the camp.
All Offer of Service applications will be reviewed by the Camp LogJam 2024 committee, taking into consideration the needs of each camp, what the applicant can offer to Camp LogJam 2024 camps, previous experience working with children within and outside of Scouting.
We particularly need Offers of Service in the following catagories:
Head Cook - need to have FoodSafe certification.
Assistant Cook (2) - need to have FoodSafe certification.
Lifeguard
Offers of Service do not pay a fee to volunteer for Camp LogJam 2024 camps.
