In the small community-based school of Camas Valley, our FFA chapter focuses on student development and success with classes including Intro to Agriculture, Agricultural Biology, Animal Science, Forestry, Horticulture, and Leadership.
Since our 2021 rechartering, we have participated in and excelled at competitions spanning from Public Speaking to State Crops.
Camas Valley FFA attended the 2024 Oregon FFA State Convention in Redmond on March 21st-24th! Chapter President Julie Amos was elected State Reporter; she and Emma Stutzman also received their State Degrees.
Also attending State Convention were Anika Ellenwood, Clarissa Fowler, Emma Vradenburg, Katelynn Simpson, Lucius Liles, and Ruth Deross.
CVCS FFA officially has its own logo! Specially designed by Ms. Brown, the logo features the mountains CVCS sits between and the animals students love showing every year: cattle and lamb. Of course, the logo wouldn't be complete without the traditional FFA emblem, a symbol of leadership and agriculture that is showcased on the back of every FFA jacket across the country.
Officer applications are due April 11th. Becoming an officer means getting to represent your chapter throughout the district and the state, and taking initiative in your school as a leader and friend. It's an excellent opportunity, so you can pick up applications in Ms. Brown's room or find a digital copy in the "More" section at the top of the page, in the "Documents" tab.
Spring CDE practices are now happening! We have teams for Beginning/Advanced:
Milk Quality and Dairy Foods
Meats Evaluation
Ag Communications
Forestry
See Ms. Brown for more information about practices, and view the CDE schedule below!
