Self Determination Theory

What Is Self Determination?

Self determination is the theory that every person has motivations that drive us. The most affective way of learning is driven by passion. The three motivations that make up Self Determination are: Amotivation, Extrinsic Motivation, and Intrinsic Motivation.

Our website's goal is to break down the fundamentals of self-determination, analyze the effects of this theory in the classroom, and relate self-determination to Calvin and Hobbes comics in hopes of our readers better understanding what self-determination means in a classroom environment.
