Division Meetings

A spring meeting is held at the Central Wyoming Model Railroad Association Club in Casper in early May and a fall meeting is held at the Sheridan Model Railroad Association Club in Sheridan in Late September. 

In 2016 the Spring Meeting will be held on May 14 and the Fall Meeting will be held on October 1.

Regular Program

A short business meeting starts at 10:00am, followed by two or three short clinics.  In the afternoon, there is a railroad related tour to an interesting location or an operating session on one of the club or home layouts.

During this period, clinics were presented by Paul Stout – IT’S MY RAILROAD – a discussion on scratchbuilding what your railroad needs that is not commercially available and by Bill Tulley – WHAT IS A MINI DIORAMA? – a discussion on what constitutes a Mini Diorama.  Afternoon activities were operating sessions on the CWMRA and SMRA Club layouts.

Special Events

The Sheridan Model Railroad Association holds an Open House for the public on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  The Central Wyoming Model Railroad Association holds an Open House for the public on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving.  The CWMRA also has a display at the Trail Center every Friday and Saturday in December except on holidays.

NOTICE OF THE PASSING OF BOB BADEN, MMR 324

Bob Baden passed away on 5 April 2016.  He joined the NMRA in 1949 and was a Life Member L0475800.  Bob had an extensive Lionel O-scale layout in his basement, which included most of the operating accessories produced by Lionel.  He was also a craftsman, making what he needed from scrap materials. Two items stand out to me - one was a steel boxcar made from a tin can and the other was a tank car made from a tree limb.  Both were detailed to the standards of the time he built them from the limited detail parts available.  He became Master Model Railroader 324, one of only two in Wyoming.

Bob was a founding member of both the Central Wyoming Model Railroad Association and the Northern Wyoming Division of the Rocky Mountain Region.

He will be missed.
