RIO GRANDE - DIVISION 6

Rio Grande Model Railroad Club, the Division 6 youth club, continues to work on their layout; the Spokane Valley and Northern RR.  They meet once a month on the second Saturday.  They will have their layout at the Albuquerque Train Show on May 23rd at the Fairgrounds.  Contact Al Hovey, AlHovey@comcast.net for information.

The program for the March meeting was a video entitled "A CASE FOR SCENERY: WATER" presented by The Colorado Model Railroad Museum, at the Greeley Freight Station.  A number of Division 6 members are Volunteers at the Museum, making the trip up to Greeley several times a year for a weekend of operations on the layout.  

Upcoming events that Division 6 members will be participating in include: 

 - The Sherman Hill Train Show, May 15-17 in Cheyenne.  The New Mexico Rail RunNers, N-scale club, will have a 25' X 40' layout at the Show.  The layout will include Disneyland and Cheyenne Yard, circa 1959 (shown below).

- The 20th Albuquerque Train Show, at the NM State Fairgrounds, on May 23rd. 

 - Smoke & Steam in 2015, the Rocky Mountain Region Convention, in Denver, June 3-7.

Several clubs in the Albuquerque are open for visitors each week, they are listed below:

 - ASHOME (Albuquerque Society of HO Module Engineers) is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

 - NMRR (New Mexico Rail RunNers) N-scale club is open Wednesday, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, and Saturday, 9:00 am to noon.
