Grace Cavalieri was Maryland’s Tenth Poet Laureate . Geoffrey Himes has published two books of collaborative poems with Grace Cavalieri: Fables from Italy and Beyond and The Third Voice. His first book of solo poetry, Today I Am an Orphan, will be published in 2026. His song lyrics have been set to music by Si Kahn, Walter Egan, Billy Kemp, Fred Koller and others. He has written about popular music for the Washington Post, New York Times, Rolling Stone, Downbeat, Sing Out, No Depression and others since 1977.
Kenzie Allen, a Haudenosaunee poet and multimodal artist, is the author of Cloud Missives (Tin House, 2024), which was a finalist for the National Poetry Series, the Indigenous Voices Awards, and the CLMP Firecracker Awards, among other honors. Kenzie is the recipient of a 92NY Discovery Prize, an inaugural James Welch Prize for Indigenous Poets, the 49th Parallel Award in poetry, and fellowships from Vermont Studio Center, Aspen Writers’ Foundation, and In-Na-Po (Indigenous Nations Poets). Her work has appeared in Poetry magazine, Prairie Schooner, Narrative magazine, Best New Poets, and other venues, and she is a first-generation descendant of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin.
