MEET OUR STAFF

Ms. Kira Gileza, Director of Bands

Welcome our new Director of Bands, Ms. Kira Gileza!

Hello! My name is Kira Gileza (Ms. G), and I am the new band director at Butler High School. I am a proud alumni of Butler High where I graduated in 2017. I then studied Music Education at Western Carolina University. I primarily play the piccolo, flute, and bari saxophone, and my favorite kinds of music to play are jazz and show tunes.

Some hobbies of mine include gardening, playing video games, being outdoors, and spending time with my friends and four siblings. My biggest passions are teaching and traveling.

My goal as a teacher is to provide a safe environment for my students to learn and express themselves. I value and strive to develop strong leadership skills, lifelong learning, and 21st century skills. I want my students to become the best versions of themselves, to be well-rounded members of society, and to find a passion for music and the performing arts.

The Butler band program plays a key role in the success of our students as it provides a place to express oneself, take on leadership roles, reinforce core curriculum, explore new experiences through travel and competition, and many other benefits. I am extremely excited to have you in band class, and I look forward to seeing all the progress you make!
