3 Step Sparring - Sambo Matsoki
At 7th Kup level you must learn and be able to demonstrate 3 Step Sparring numbers 5 to 7.
Only the defence moves are shown below.
Number 5
1: Move your right leg back into L stance make an outer forearm middle block to the inside.
2: Move your left leg back into L stance make an outer forearm middle block to the inside.
Counter: Do not move back again, slide your right leg 45 degrees outward into sitting stance, make an outer forearm middle block to the inside and at the same time make a punch towards your opponents jaw with your other hand.
Number 6
1: Move your right leg back into L stance make a knife hand block (sonkal makgi) to the inside.
2: Move your left leg back into L stance make a knife hand block to the inside.
Counter: Do not move back again, slide your right leg 45 degrees outward into sitting stance, make a middle section knife hand block to the inside and at the same time make an inward moving knife hand strike(anuro sonkal taerigi) to your opponents neck with your other hand.
Number 7
1: Move your right leg back into L stance make an outer forearm middle block to the inside.
2: Move your left leg back into L stance make an outer forearm middle block to the inside.
3. Slide back to the right at 45 degrees, your right leg should be back and you should be in L stance. Make aforearm guarding block (palmok daebi makgi).
Counter: Perform a right leg front kick (ap chagi), land in walking stance and make a double punch. Aimboth attacks at your opponents mid section.
Start in position X facing toward A in Parallel ready stance.
Turn 90 left toward C in walking stance with a left high outer forearm block.
Stay in the same stance and change to right middle punch (perform 1 & 2 in a continuous motion).
Step turn 180 right toward D in walking stance with a right high outer forearm block.
Stay in the same stance and change to left middle punch (perform 3 & 4 in a continuous motion).
Turn 90 left toward A in L stance with knifehand guarding block.
Step right leg forward in walking stance with straight fingertip thrust, release.
Pivot 360 anti-clockwise into walking stance with a left high backfist side strike.
Step right leg forward in walking stance with a right high backfist side strike.
Turn 270 left toward F in walking stance with a left high outer forearm block.
Stay in the same stance and change to right middle punch (perform 9 & 10 in a continuous motion).
Step turn 180 right toward E in walking stance with a right high outer forearm block.
Stay in the same stance and change to left middle punch (perform 11 & 12 in a continuous motion).
Move left leg toward H in walking stance with high outer forearm wedging block.
Keep block in position, right mid section front snap kick.
Put right foot down in front into walking stance, right middle punch.
In position left middle reverse punch (perform 15 & 16 in fast motion).
Move right leg toward G in walking stance with high outer forearm wedging block.
Keep block in position, left mid section front snap kick.
Put left foot down in front into walking stance, left middle punch.
In position right middle reverse punch (perform 19 & 20 in fast motion).
Move left leg toward B in walking stance with left rising block.
Step forward in walking stance with right rising block.
Turn 180 left onto line CD facing A in sitting stance with left knifehand strike toward C.
Bring left foot to right then slide right foot out into sitting stance with right knifehand strike toward D.
