At 4th Kup level you must learn and be able to demonstrate 2 Step Sparring numbers 5 to 8.
Attacking and Defending
The attacker starts by making a forearm guarding block with right leg back in L stance and makes a kihap.
The defender, in parallel ready stance, then kihaps back to show they are ready to begin.
Number 5
Attacker: Step across your body with the left leg and make a back kick (Dwit Chagi) or reverse side kick with the right leg.
Defender: Move your right leg back into L stance, make a palm waist block (Sonbadak Hori Makgi).
Attacker: Going forward make a high palm strike (Sonbadak Taerigi) in walking stance.
Defender: Move your left leg back into L stance, make an outer forearm inward block with the right arm. To counter make a reverse knife hand strike (Sonkal Dung Taerigi) slipping into walking stance.
Number 6
Attacker: Make a turning kick with the right leg.
Defender: Move your left leg back into sitting stance, make a twin straight forearm checking block (SangSun Palmok Momchau Magki).
Attacker: Step forward into walking stance, make an arc hand strike (Bandal Son Taerigi) to your opponent’s throat.
Defender: Move your right leg back into L stance, make a hooking block (Golcho Makgi) grabbing your opponent’s arm. To counter make a side kick with your left leg whilst keeping hold of your opponent’s arm.
Number 7
Attacker: Move your right leg forward into L stance, make a side fist strike (Yop Joomuk Taerigi) with the right arm.
Defender: Move your left leg back into L stance, make a twin outer forearm block.
Attacker: Step across your body with the right leg, make a reverse turning kick (Bandae Dollyo Chagi) with the left leg.
Defender: Slide back into L stance with your right leg back, make forearm guarding block. To counter step across your body with the left leg, make a reverse turning kick with the right leg.
Number 4
Attacker: Make a side kick with your right leg.
Defender: Move your right leg back into L stance, make a waist inward block with the left arm.
Attacker: Spinning anti-clockwise, make a high knife hand strike in L stance.
Defender: Step left foot to right foot then move right foot back into L stance making a knife hand guarding block. To counter step forward into X stance (Kyocha Sogi) making a back fist side strike (Dung Joomuk YopTaerigi) to the back of your opponents neck.
Start in position X facing toward A in closed ready stance ‘B’.
Turn to face C in L stance with left middle reverse knifehand block.
With the left foot execute a low front snap kick keeping hands in position.
Land left foot in front then step forward into rear foot stance with right upward palm block.
Turn 180 to face D in L stance with right middle reverse knifehand block.
With the right foot execute a low front snap kick keeping hands in position.
Land right foot in front then step forward into rear foot stance with left upward palm block.
Move left foot toward A in L stance with middle knifehand guarding block.
Slide left foot into walking stance with high right upper elbow strike.
Step forward in L stance with middle knifehand guarding block.
Slide right foot into walking stance with high left upper elbow strike.
Step forward in walking stance with high twin vertical punch.
Step forward in walking stance with middle twin upset punch.
Step turn toward B in walking stance with X-fist rising block.
Move left foot to face F in L stance with left high backfist strike.
Slide left foot forward into walking stance whilst performing release move with the left arm.
Stay in the same stance, right high punch.
Move left foot to right then move right foot to face E in L stance with right high backfist strike.
Slide right foot forward into walking stance whilst performing release move with the right arm.
Stay in the same stance, left high punch.
Move right foot to left then move left foot toward B in walking stance with high double forearm block.
Slide left foot back into L stance with left middle side punch.
Execute a right mid section side kick toward B.
Land right foot forward in walking stance with high double forearm block.
Slide right foot back into L stance with right middle side punch.
Execute a left mid section side kick toward B.
Land left foot forward in L stance with middle forearm guarding block.
Slide left foot forward in low stance with slow motion palm pressing block.
