[Crafts/Antique / Souvenir]
The architectural charm of Melaka is a testament to its diverse history. Visitors can explore a wide range of architectural styles, from traditional Malay houses and Chinese temples to Dutch-style buildings. Jonker Street, lined with colorful Peranakan shophouses, is a prime example of this architectural diversity.
The objective of this project is to design a craft shophouse in the historic town of Melaka, Malaysia, to provide students with a design challenge that celebrates traditional crafts and contributes to the local community. The shophouse will be a two-story structure located in a prominent area of Melaka Town. Other contribution is to design a visually appealing and functional craft shophouse that respects the historic character of Melaka Town, to promote and preserve traditional crafts and skills of the region and to create a space that attracts tourists and contributes to the culturalvibrancy of Melaka.
