Why Join the CDA?

God Bless the Catholic Daughters!

by Father Matt Lorrain

I am a big fan of organizations and ministries within the Church which promote friendship, community, service, and spiritual growth, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas is a shining example of such an organization. Much like a single-sex school or sports team or sorority, a CDA court provides an opportunity for women to gather together in service to Christ and for the betterment of the entire world. And in serving others we usually end up enriching our own lives of faith.

Catholic Daughters contribute to the faith life of their parish family in many varied ways. Sometimes they help to sharpen our vision or identify a particular need at a particular moment in history. Other times they offer immediate outreach and comfort to the poor and downtrodden. Still other times they perform an advocacy role and help shape the conscience of our local community and nation. All of their endeavors are supported by prayer and the faith tradition of the Church.

Thank you to the past, current, and future members of our local Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 2079 for your outstanding witness of prayer and a vibrant faith. May your spirit of generosity and faith inspire many others to deepen their relationship with Christ and love for others. On behalf of the many priests who have served before me, I offer sincere gratitude and pledge my wholehearted support for your continued ministry. God bless!

Who Can Join the CDA?

Membership in the Catholic Daughters of the Americas organization is possible for women 18+ years of age. Any woman of the Catholic faith who wishes to belong to CDA is welcome to join.

How to Join?

Come to one of our meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of the month or contact Mary Benoit at (225) 324-5289. If you are friends with one of the daughters, just talk to them and they will get the ball rolling for you to join us. Our recruitment theme for this year is: CDA BOGO! Bring One; Gain One! Our door is always open to all women who are interested and the more helping hands that we have, the more work we can accomplish together for our Church and surrounding community.
