The Center for EMS provides regulation, licensure, ambulance inspection, system performance and protocol development for Rhode Island EMS agencies.

Dr. Williams serves as the State EMS Medical Director and along with Dr. Lauro and several other pediatric and trauma physicians provide guidance to the DOH through their membership on the state Ambulance Service Advisory Board.

Through this collaboration, EMS fellows gain a broad exposure to state-level EMS management and are actively involved in research and quality assurance projects to improve system performance.
