As part of the BYU-Idaho business program, I coordinated with a group of 14 other students to create a student-run small business during the Fall 2025 semester.
At Bloom & Preserve Jewelry Company, we sold handmade, high quality pressed floral resin jewelry.
As a small business, we were able to bring in more than $15,000 in combined sales revenue from our on-campus booth and Shopify website! It was such a rewarding experience to see the benefits of our hard work all semester.
During our 9 weeks of business, I got to experience being a part of the operations, finance, and marketing departments.
I was elected to be one of the team's temporary Chief Executive Officers, during which my primary job was to manage and coordinate work between these 3 business departments for one (3 week) rotation.
I also led daily discussions, planned lessons, organized presentation work sessions, attended financial recon meetings, presented at board meetings, and oversaw production shifts as the operations production manager.
