I'm Brielle Anderson, the face of Brielle Dawn Designs :)
I am a recent graduate from BYU-Idaho, having received my Bachelor of Science in Apparel Entrepreneurship. As a retired dancer with more than 10 years of sewing experience, I have a strong passion for live entertainment and performance costume design.
I was a competitive Irish dancer for 15 years, and I’ve also performed for thousands of people at international folk dance festivals in more than a dozen countries throughout Europe. These performance experiences, as well as the friendships I gained from them, have deepened my love, awareness, and appreciation for the many cultures of the world, and especially how they express themselves through their unique dance styles and costumes.
My dance background is a driving factor in my passion for the costuming industry, because I've felt firsthand the effects of a high-quality costume! When paired with the practice and preparation that go into a live entertainment production, a costume has the power to enhance a performer's abilities both on and offstage. It acts as that finishing touch that not only brings a performance to life for the audience, but instills in the performer a confidence that truly feels magical.
During my final semester of college, I began a temporary full-time position with The Walt Disney Company as a Costume Buying Intern. I have loved working in this role so far, and I'm learning so much about the process for sourcing fabrics and materials on a mass-production scale, as well as the importance of developing relationships with overseas manufacturers and vendors!
Costume design combines my two creative life passions: dancing and sewing. As a lover of all things pink, I find it so fulfilling to express myself through my work, and I am eager and excited to enter into a field that allows me to do these things professionally!
