During my graduate school journey, I served on Dr. Xueli Wang's research team, primarily on her National Science Foundation-funded “Expanding STEM Talent Through Upward Transfer: Factors Influencing Transfer in STEM Fields from Two-Year to Four-Year Institutions." I also worked on a study for the "Contextualize to Learn" project. I have been a co-author on four peer-reviewed journal articles (three published, one accepted). Our studies have been presented at the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) and Council for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC) conferences.
Within four particular studies, my responsibilities have entailed:
Developing literature reviews
Recruiting participants
Conducting and transcribing interviews
Coding and analyzing data
Crafting, editing and revising manuscripts
Presenting research at conferences
During my time in working with Xueli, I have also had the opportunity to handle the following tasks:
Reviewing articles for Research in Higher Education (under her supervision and guidance)
Gathering mixed methods articles from leading higher education journals (assisting her in curriculum planning)
Scanning and curating information on leading academic journals
