PROFESSIONALS + ACADEMICS + STUDENTS
Our proximity to a world class university with an internationally recognised architecture program provides us with the opportunity and responsibility to work with and take part in the academic side of our profession. In addition to our membership boasting both practitioners and academics, our firms employing graduates and current students, and our local architects participating in mentorship opportunities for future generations, the University in turn opens many resources to our members.
Department and Chapter leaders are actively working to provide continued and new opportunites for cooperation and growth. Contact the Academic Director to learn more about these efforts.

SCHOLARSHIPS + GRANTS
AIA BRAZOS SCHOLARSHIP
Thanks to the generosity of past and present members, we are able to offer a scholarship to assist in offseting the education costs of a TAMU Architecture student each year. In 2019, we were once again able to offer the recipient an additional $1,000 through the AIA National Component Matching Scholarship Program. Recipients are chosen through the College of Architecture scholarship application process.
LEADERSHIP GRANT (EMERGING PROFESSIONALS)
With memories of their own architecture programs still (relatively) fresh in their minds, our emerging professionals set to work in 2019 to develop new ways to engage with and assist the next group of future architects coming up behind them. Through their Gingerbread Build Off, they funded a grant to help TAMU AIAS leaders attend FORUM - a national meeting of AIAS members and leaders - over the winter break.
ARCHITECTURE LECTURE SERIES
The Texas A&M University Department of Architecture hosts a lecture series every semester, featuring speakers from around the world and covering a wide varity of topics. Local architects and associates are encouraged to take advantage of this resource by attending the free talks and engaging with the speakers, students, and professors.
