What's a Dress Rehearsal? What is the Nutcracker Remixed? Do I have to be there?
YES! To participate in The Nutcracker Remixed, dancers must attend the dress rehearsal. If you do not attend the dress rehearsal on Friday, December 18th, 2026, you cannot perform in The Nutcracker Remixed. Dress rehearsal will be held in the Oley Valley Middle School Auditorium. Dancers participating in Nutcracker Remixed will be performing in both the 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM showings.
DRESS REHEARSAL DAY - FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18TH, 2026
Students are encouraged to arrive already dressed and on time. Requirements can be found on the Costumes/Hair/MakeUp tab and on our Customer Portal. You must follow specifications, as we will be taking live-action photos during our rehearsal and show. Dancers in incorrect tights, shoes, or costumes will be asked to change.
A designated changing area will be available outside the auditorium for costume changes. Signs will be posted, and the information booth will be available to assist.
Dressed dancers will enter the auditorium with their class, and parents will sit with their dancer’s class in clearly labeled seating so we can easily find each group when it is their turn to rehearse.
Younger students will practice 1–2 times on stage.
Whether they dance in the first or last number, all of our students are expected to dance the finale first.
Dancers are permitted to leave after they finish performing the finale and their whole-class routine.
If your child has any Medical Conditions that may require attention whilst in our care, or is carrying any medication, please notify our supervisors when you sign in. All medication (EPI Pens, Inhalers, etc.) should be clearly labeled and given to our supervisors.
To ensure a smooth and organized process, dancers arriving before their designated check-in time will not be checked in early. Families are welcome to wait until check-in begins.
SHOW DAY - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19TH, 2026
Dancers should arrive 1 hour before showtime at their designated check-in time. Please come with hair and makeup done and in costume. If your dancer is in multiple dances, please have them ready for their first dance.
As always, the safety of our dance family is our #1 priority. When students arrive at the recital, they are to be checked in at our check-in booth so we know they have arrived. At the check-in booth, the student and one parent/guardian will each receive a matching lanyard with a Name and Number attached. Parent/Guardians, please do not lose this, as you will need it to pick up your child. At check-in, students will also receive a tote bag with their recital shirt, any purchased programs, and a snack and drink. Please try not to have your dancers bring any valuable items, especially electronic devices. Our studio and the venue will take no responsibility for any item that is damaged, misplaced, lost, or stolen.
Once checked into the changing area, dancers will not leave until after the show. Parents are asked to head to the auditorium to take their seats or head outside to enjoy the food trucks on site. Students will be supervised by staff and volunteers in the dressing rooms before and during the recital. (Dance with Me students are permitted to go to the auditorium with their parent if the adult chooses to purchase a ticket to watch the show after performing.)
Students are not permitted to leave the performance early, as ALL dancers are included in this year's grand finale. We will dismiss all dancers from the stage at the conclusion of the finale and return them to the changing room (cafeteria). A parent or guardian will then return to the check-in table with the lanyard they received at drop-off to check out their student. There, we will dismiss by age group, beginning with our youngest students. This process does take a few minutes, and we very much appreciate your patience at pick up while we confirm that dancers are picked up by their rightful guardian.
