Picture Week (Mandatory for All Dancers to Attend)
Why is it required? We proudly hang each class photo in our studio and want every dancer included and celebrated. You are not required to purchase photos.
Arrival:
Arrive 10 minutes early so photos can begin on time.
If late, the class photo will be taken without your dancer.
Hair, Makeup & Costume Info:
All requirements are in the Customer Portal → Costumes tab.
Fall Sampler Dancer Attire - Dancers must have a middle part and a low bun with no flyaways. Light makeup is suggested. Dancers must come in their appropriate colored leotard, tights, shoes, and either leggings, shorts, or skirts. Sweaters or other clothing accessories are encouraged if they match the dancer's correct colored leotard. Example: A pink leotard, a pink wrap sweater, and pink leg warmers.
Dancers must have the correct shoes and tights (tights are included with costumes). Missing or incorrect items may impact participation in the class photo.
Costume Alterations Help: Our seamstress will be on-site all week for quick adjustments.

Arrive with hair + makeup done. Suggested makeup: natural, lighter than stage makeup.
One-costume dancers should arrive dressed.
Additional prep space available in the Spring Room.
Photo Room Policies: No personal photography in the photo room.
Our photographer uses professional lighting/backdrops; using their equipment is prohibited.

MAKEUP:
Light, natural makeup is recommended. Use a foundation that matches your dancer’s skin tone; the camera picks up everything. Younger dancers may wear little to no makeup. Use your best judgment.
TIGHTS:
Please make sure tights are clean and free of holes or runs. Dancers must be in the correct color tights. Specifications are on the portal as well as your dancer's costume bag.
HAIR TIES AND JEWELRY:
Please remove all hair ties and jewelry from wrists before coming to the studio to avoid marks in photos.
NAIL POLISH:
Remove any chipped nail polish (hands and feet) before the photoshoot day.

Parents may not enter the photo room. We know it’s tempting, but this helps dancers stay focused and keeps the session running smoothly. Your little ones are in great hands!
Please leave all posing, corrections, and adjustments to the photographer and instructors.
No personal photography during the photoshoot, which includes behind-the-scenes photos in our Autumn Room.
All sales are final. No refunds.
Photos will be delivered within 90 days after picture week due to the timing of recital and in-house production schedules.
Photos will be stored for one year from the date they are taken, after which they will be permanently disposed of.
*Child Cooperation & Expressions*
While we strive to create a positive and enjoyable experience during Picture Week and recital photography, we cannot guarantee a child’s mood, behavior, or expressions on the day of their session. A child’s willingness to participate, smile, or pose is ultimately beyond our control. By participating, parents and guardians acknowledge that Branches of Dance and its photographers are not responsible for any dissatisfaction related to a child’s emotions, expressions, or level of cooperation during photos.
To help maintain a smooth and focused environment, parents are not permitted in the photography room, with the exception of Dance with Me classes. If our staff determines that a parent’s presence is needed, we will notify you.
Picture Week Digital Downloads
Families will receive digital downloads of their dancer’s photos from Nutcracker Picture Week. We will not be providing printed copies. Digital files allow families the flexibility to print their photos at their own convenience, in any size or quantity they choose, making it the most cost-effective and flexible option.
