How to get tapped in
New member orientations
If you haven't already, a great first step getting involved as a new Boston DSA member is to attend a New Member Orientation. These are held monthly, and dates of upcoming orientations can be found on the chapter Events Calendar.
Resources
Now you're ready to get started organizing with the chapter! Here's how to make sure you can keep in touch with your comrades and stay updated about what's going on:
The chapter Member Portal is a clearinghouse for all the essential links you'll want, including Zoom meetings and the chapter Wiki & Discord. To access it, you'll need to make an account via the "Sign Up" button using the same email address as your DSA membership.
Discord is a messaging platform with topic-based channels where you can collaborate, share, and just talk about your day without clogging up a group chat. The chapter Discord is a good way to communicate with comrades in the chapter, ask questions, and collaborate within working groups. Our chapter's channel can be accessed at this link .Â
The chapter Wiki is an internal editable database for keeping track of useful information about the chapter, including pages for all the working groups, information about the chapter, and How-To guides for running events. To get access to the Wiki, you'll need to request an account, which you can do here (also linked at the bottom of the Wiki main page).
Finally, the chapter website is another source for information about the chapter, and most importantly, it has the chapter Events page listing all the upcoming events for the chapter.
The best way to get started organizing with the chapter is to check out the Events page, find a working group, reading group, or action that looks interesting to you, and show up -- it's that simple!
