Project Turns is a game I would like to make one day, but was scrapped due to it's massive scope. However, I often use it as inspiration for art projects, which have been collected
Revisions to a level blockout in an attempt to further develop the electronic elements and odd blocky properties of the dimension's form of concrete (final image included)
Concepts+layouts loosely based on the "Wild East" environment. Blender and online posing software were used to develop perspective
Early attempts to develop another dimension with an unusual sky and technological architecture. (actual gameplay screenshot is visible with placeholder materials and flat geometry, as it was scrapped before the level was fully blocked out)
Nonolith Mockups! None of these ended up being quite what Camh was looking for, so they sent me their own sketch and I adapted it!
Various sketches for the covers of Bacon Pasta Comics (final versions are visible here)
Break Time Arc style tests and Cover Thumbnails (there were a lot!)
The Ambush Arc had a ton of color tests and potential covers
This is the final art for Mini Gunn
Compared to the mockup
Reference images + all initial mockups
Second Draft on most promising mockups
(I don't like the color change on 5 but wanted to experiment)
Third Round + color tests
Emo Characters and the time I played boundless Tic-Tac-Toe on Otomo's face
Maintenance Break (available here) was my first substantial collaborative project, involving me on 2D art, sirmilkman on programming, and Skooka on environments. I also helped with the writing and animated trailer!
All of us had totally different ideas on what this wold actually be, so it was a good learning experience for all of us to collaborate and compromise. I'm very happy with the final product even though it's entirely different than what I initially expected! Below is some concept art and sprites for the game.
Early designs while we tried to figure out a direction for the project. Initially, it was a parody of old edutainment games and Zelda CDI, but we wanted to lean into some grittier art. The end result (far right) was a mixture between the two, where it's still a more grounded world, but with some goofier aspects too.
Early scrapped sprites. Player didn't fit into the world, and the table had a specific sequence to be solved which wasn't visible here
Trailer stuff that got lost in resolution a bit
A lot of the comic characters get iterated so much in the comics that I just make a general design in their debut comic and dial in details as they go, so they don't appear as much here
Miscellaneous process photos
A photoshop project for art class where we had to remake an Album Cover. I chose a Flame to the Ground Beneath for some reason (it's the album that the fire gator song is from)
Wildly different iterations of one comic. The parry joke was scrapped because it's probably too subtle and specific, and Ethan got cut out because it wasn't worth adding an extra character when the joke works with only 6 panels. My friend made the BoomBox5 edit
Experimenting with environment design and the various props that would make it up
Early versions featured a colorful other dimension and less vibrant environment, but this was changed to better experiment with color and imply more of a story

Unused Zine Sketches that I do not feel like rotating 90 degrees counterclockwise or 270 degrees clockwise
I just don't like this drawing very much so I'm not going to bother explaining anything
