The American judicial system is racially biased within law enforcement as well as in court. It’s statistically shown that people of color, especially African-Americans are more likely to face racial bias from the authorities and judges as well as more likely to be incarcerated with harsher punishments compared to other races. 38.8% of African-Americans are incarcerated in the past year according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons which is typically higher than any other race. They are more likely to face longer prison sentences than other races regardless of similar crimes.

This application keeps a score for every judge’s fair sentence ratio and keeps a score on every judge from 0-1 based on this ratio, with 0 being extremely unfair and 1 being extremely fair. When a judge falls below a threshold of 0.2, this indicates he is being very unfair, and we have an unbiased panel conduct a review of the judge’s cases and his sentences. This panel will have the ability to reprimand the judge if he is deemed to be unnecessarily, and unfairly biased.

In 2022 there are still major problems when it comes to arrests made in the United States. The data shows that there is a disproportionate amount of arrests made when it comes to minority groups, and people of color. Police activity unfairly target people from these groups, resulting in an unjust system, with a high level of mistrust from non-white groups. Our solution prevents so many social conflicts among the local communities and the administration who is in charge of providing lifetime security for every single person as we can see the racial incidence continue to spread everywhere day after day. Legal Decisions Database based on nationwide real-time data and analytics

  • To make legal decisions based more on nationwide real-time data and analytics.

  • Decisions less based on a judge or law enforcement officer’s personal discretion. That type of decision making allows more bias to come into play. The human element of legal decision making needs to be balanced. With how immensely bias can affect legal decisions, it needs to be implemented into the system properly.

  • Our software will be based on data, and it will have visualization and dashboards being updated with recent precedent to deliver more unbiased information to those who access it.

  • It will have interactive dashboards and reporting.

  • It will be standardized to an extent recognizing anomalies that may appear in a case-by-case situation.

Vote For Your Voice

Our solution to this conundrum is essentially a website that shows the regulations nationally and also shows the local restrictions based on your area in the United states.

Our solution can help to widely inform people of voting restrictions as to spread awareness of these restrictions and to help guide minorities through the harsh obstacles presented when voting.

judicial bias

Make a website with a database for juries and judges that will gather information about past convictions and sentences as well as current ones.

The juries and judges will be able to enter the data about the current trial, It will analyze the information and facts, and quickly provide statistical analyzes about previous sentences with the same crime and factors.

It will give you access to similar cases and for how long the convicts were convicted, so the juries and judges will be able to test themselves and whether they might be biased and sentence someone for a longer period of time-based on prejudice.

Of course, every case is different, but it will allow them to get a perspective about similar cases and make the adjustments to the current case while making sure the punishment is in moderation.
