Responsibilities:
Serve as the chief officer of the BFT.
This is a full-time release position.
Preside at all meetings of the full membership, the Executive Council, and the Steward Council.
Appoint members to district committees and committees defined by the Master Contract.
Sit on any committee of the BFT, ex officio, with voting power in case of ties.
Sign documents on the behalf of the BFT.
In consultation with the Treasurer, authorize up to $500.00 of expenditures for BFT matters.
Arrange for the Treasurer's records to be audited by an independent auditing firm annually. (Joint responsibility)
Perform the usual duties of the office and other duties as assigned by the Executive Council, the Steward Council, or the membership.
Represent the local when it is impossible to convene the Executive Council. Before action is taken, the President will consult with three Executive Council members.
Perform the duties prescribed in this Constitution and its Bylaws.
Appoint a Budget Committee, chaired by the Treasurer, to prepare a budget for the Executive Council.
Work closely with the incoming president during the interim between the election and the new term of office.
Appoint a member to recognize significant events in members’ lives (wedding, births, illnesses, etc.)

Serve as an assistant to the President, carrying out the duties as assigned by the President.
Cooperate with Stewards and address member concerns.
Perform the duties of and have the powers of the President during any absence or inability of the President to act.
Fill automatically any vacancy in the office of the President.

Responsibilities:
Serve on the Executive Council and the Steward Council and attend monthly meetings
Record and share minutes for both Steward meetings and Executive Council.
Room rental and food for meetings.
Help to create the agenda with the President.
Work with President to create and publish regular newsletter
Update BFT website, create infographics for communication
Use a variety of platforms to keep BFT members informed and involved.
Submits annual meeting minutes to EdMN.
This position receives a stipend from the BFT.
Treasurer: Lacey Dawson, bfttreasurer@gmail.com
Responsibilities:
Serve on the Executive Council and the Steward Council and attend monthly meetings.
Receive and disburse all funds.
Keep an accurate record of all transactions.
Submit the financial records of the BFT to an annual audit.
Chair the Budget Committee.
Submit a current monthly financial report to the Executive Council, Steward Council, and membership.
Be responsible for filing necessary legal documents.
Develop & maintain the BFT budget.
Assist with membership program.
This position receives a stipend from the BFT.
Be available to work summer and school breaks, as needed.
