SPRING WREATH MAKING this March
Let us know how we could help share the amazing projects and events you are organising in Black Mount!
We know from the community survey that speeding and road safety were huge concerns across all of Black Mount.
We are actively recruiting volunteers to help us gather speed data using a handheld speed detector.
Let us know if you can volunteer to help gather data on your roads/villages.

As we got ready for the Black Mount Community Cycle we were able to invite Gear Up, a social enterprise from Lanark, to offer quick services for local bikes. We set up at Elsrickle Community Hub and 30 bikes were serviced on the day, as part of the Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival.
Thanks to Gear Up and to everyone who made it such a success by bringing along their bikes, or joining the LED ride.
Inspired by Climate Action Lanarkshire's Climate Action Festival we ran two breadmaking workshops (one for kids and another for adults) at Errington's Barn. Local volunteer Andrew guided the groups through simple breadmaking and discussions around yeasts, dough and baking.
In between the sessions Angus, from Mungoswells Malt and Milling joined us to give a talk on Mungoswells and the process of producing flour at their mill in East Lothian.
Everyone was able to take home a couple small rolls to bake at home and we hope they remember some of the insights from Angus and Andrew!
Thank you to Errington's Barn, Angus from Mungoswells Malt and Milling and everyone who took part.
For the FIRST EVER Black Mount Community Cycle we were joined by 35 cyclists from age 3 to 73. Cycling the 7miles from Newbigging playing fields to Dolphinton Hall.
We were lucky to get bright sunny (albeit cold) weather and finished at the Grand Opening of Dolphinton Hall which meant tea, cakes and a warm welcome!
We are already planning to repeat next year so join as a FRIEND (click here) to be the first to hear.
Thanks to everyone who took part!
